Rough out here today and tougher fishing than the last few days but there is still a good volume of fish in this zone although it seems they have spread out a bit. The grade of fish here is the same as it has been over the last several days, ranging 20 to over 200lbs. Decent amount of surface action today with scattered jumpers and some foam spots. Spreader bars, kite with flyer, and casting gear all got bit today.

Avalon Bank / 277 / 14 Mile Bank / 267 / 209-312 / Off Dana – Oceanside / 181-182 Ridge / 178-9 Mile Bank
No sign of fish in this zone today. Kelps were hard to find due to conditions and not nearly as much bird life here as the past couple days. There was some decent signal of small bluefin in this zone yesterday although they are moving very fast, making it hard to get on them and cast. Trolling madmacs and spreader bars has been working better. Setting up a chum line and flylining baits has been working best. There are also a good number of kelps holding yellowtail and even dorado in this area.
Evening update report from Ted:
Left Dana today at 9:30am and headed towards 267 and then eventually long soaked at the 14.
Lots of pattys around the 14 but they were dry.
On way back found one patty with a small mahi that didn’t want to bite. Maybe 2-3 miles from the 14.
Bait was strong all day. Mostly smaller sardines.
Water was 68-70 offshore.
